The Jacksonville Jaguars are potentially facing additional challenges following their Monday night game.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence sustained an injury in the 34-31 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, initially diagnosed as right ankle sprain. An MRI scheduled for Tuesday will provide more details about the extent of the injury, according to reports from NFL .

Head coach Doug Pederson did not immediately provide a comprehensive update after the game but confirmed that Trevor Lawrence will undergo further tests on Tuesday.

Observations from NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe noted that, post-game, Lawrence was able to stand on his ankle in the locker room, albeit cautiously. Lawrence shared information about the injury with teammates, and many of them appeared in good spirits after talking with him. Following this, Lawrence left the locker room wearing a walking boot.

Good news for the Jacksonville Jaguars! In Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a scare when he went down in the fourth quarter. Thankfully, it turns out he only has a high ankle sprain, which is better than a more serious injury. Lawrence needed some help to leave the field after his right leg got bent awkwardly.
After his injury, Trevor Lawrence walked with trainers from the field to the locker room instead of using a cart. When asked about it, Lawrence defended the medical staff, saying, “We have an amazing medical staff that takes care of us in every way that you can imagine. Anything that we need, they’re always there. They work pretty much around the clock to take care of us. So we have one of, if not the best in the league.”

Lawrence explained the situation with the cart, stating that he’s the one who chose not to take the ride.
“We talked about getting a cart, and I was gonna get a cart, and then I’m standing there. I’m already on the sideline at that point, the tunnel is right there. I just wanted to get off the field and get out of there. I didn’t know what was going on with my ankle and I felt like I could get off. I was like, ‘Hey, you’re good. Just don’t bring it out. I’m going in,'” Lawrence said.

“Then once I got in there, I’m like, ‘This is a pretty long walk.’ But I was already there, and they asked again if I wanted a cart, and I’m like, ‘No, we’re going to make it the whole way there.’ Didn’t know there were cameras in the tunnel. Of course, we have carts. We have everything we need, and I was the one that didn’t choose to take one. You guys can put that on me. Maybe that was dumb, maybe I should have taken one, whatever. But it’s nothing to do with us not having a cart available. I don’t think that would happen in the National Football League, especially here with the crew that we have.”

Lawrence has an impressive NFL record, never missing a game with 46 straight starts. He’s putting in dedicated effort, undergoing continuous rehab, aiming to be ready for the upcoming match against the Cleveland Browns, as reported by The Athletic.
Before his injury, Lawrence had been performing exceptionally well, contributing nine total touchdowns in the last three games. Unfortunately, with the loss to the Bengals, the Jaguars missed a chance to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC for Week 14. As it stands, they are currently at No. 4 in the conference with an 8-4 record.
