Rapper Killer Mike was taken into custody on Sunday following an altercation at the Grammys venue, as confirmed by the police.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that a man was detained and handcuffed on Sunday due to a physical altercation. He was then arrested and taken to LAPD’s Central Division.

The individual involved was identified as Michael Render, also known as Killer Mike. He faced a charge of misdemeanor battery and was in the process of being released, according to the police statement on Sunday night.

The LAPD stated that the altercation occurred on Chick Hearn Court, the location of the Crypto.com Arena.

Killer Mike’s initial win was for “Scientists & Engineers,” which earned Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song awards. The track features Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane.
